Christo-Centric Study of Genesis

Christo-Centric Study of Genesis

(Viewing Genesis from a Hebraic Mindset and Its Fulfillment in Christ)

I. Introduction to Genesis: The Book of Beginnings

  1. Genesis as the Foundation of Biblical Theology

    • Genesis 1:1 – "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
    • The Torah begins with Genesis, revealing the nature of God, the origins of creation, humanity, sin, and redemption.
  2. Genesis in the Hebraic Mindset

    • Genesis is a book of covenants, showing God’s relational nature with mankind.
    • Unlike Greek philosophy, which separates the spiritual from the physical, Genesis presents a holistic view of life where God is actively involved in human affairs.
  3. Genesis as the Seedbed of Christ’s Redemption

    • Luke 24:27 – Jesus expounded the Scriptures (including Genesis) to show how they pointed to Him.
    • John 5:46 – "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me."
