Luke 12:15 - 21 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIP: Managing God’s Gifts Faithfully II CV4

BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIP
 Managing God’s Gifts Faithfully

πŸ“Œ Module Overview

This module will help students grasp the biblical principle of stewardship — recognizing that God owns everything and entrusts us with resources and responsibilities. Students will be guided on how to wisely and faithfully manage their time, talents, resources, relationships, and opportunities for the glory of God and the good of others.

πŸ“Œ Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, students will be able to:
✅ Understand the concept of stewardship from a biblical perspective.
✅ Identify areas of life where stewardship must be practiced.
✅ Develop practical ways to honor God through wise management.
✅ Commit to being responsible stewards in school, family, and society.

πŸ“– PART 1: God Owns Everything

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– Psalm 24:1 (KJV)
"The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."

Meaning:
Everything belongs to God — the earth, its resources, and even our very lives. Stewardship begins with acknowledging God’s ownership.

Reflection Question:
πŸ‘‰ How does knowing that God owns everything change the way you treat your time, talents, and possessions?

πŸ“– PART 2: We Are God’s Stewards

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)
"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."

Meaning:
A steward is someone entrusted to manage something that belongs to someone else. God requires us to be faithful managers of everything He has entrusted to us.

Activity:
✅ List three things God has entrusted you with right now (e.g., time, a skill, friendships).

πŸ“– PART 3: Stewardship of Time

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– Ephesians 5:15-16 (KJV)
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

Meaning:
Time is a precious gift that must be used wisely. Wasting time dishonors God, while managing it well glorifies Him.

Reflection:
πŸ‘‰ How do you usually spend your free time? How can you better honor God with it?

πŸ“– PART 4: Stewardship of Talents and Abilities

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)
"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

Meaning:
Every talent and skill you have is a grace from God, meant to serve others and glorify Him.

Activity:
✅ Identify one talent or ability you can use this week to help a classmate, your family, or your community.

πŸ“– PART 5: Stewardship of Resources and Money

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– Proverbs 3:9 (KJV)
"Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase."

Meaning:
Managing your finances and resources wisely, and giving to God first, is an act of worship and stewardship.

Reflection:
πŸ‘‰ How do you plan to honor God with your allowance, savings, or resources in simple, practical ways?

πŸ“– PART 6: Stewardship of Relationships

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– Romans 12:18 (KJV)
"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."

Meaning:
God expects us to nurture, respect, and value our relationships as stewards of the people entrusted to our lives.

Activity:
✅ Think of someone you need to reconcile with or encourage this week. Write down a step you can take.

πŸ“– PART 7: Stewardship of the Environment

Key Bible Verse:
πŸ“– Genesis 2:15 (KJV)
"And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."

Meaning:
Caring for the environment is part of our stewardship. God commanded humanity to take care of His creation.

Reflection:
πŸ‘‰ What simple actions can you start doing today to help protect the environment?

“Glorifying God in Body and Spirit” I A Devotional I

“Glorifying God in Body and Spirit”

Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

πŸ“– Reflection

In today’s fast-paced world, the pursuit of health often gets reduced to physical appearance or temporary trends. But for the believer, the foundation of a healthy lifestyle is neither vanity nor mere human discipline — it is worship. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are not our own; they are temples of the Holy Spirit, purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle — eating nourishing food, getting adequate rest, engaging in physical activity, and managing stress — is part of honoring the God who gave us life. It enables us to serve Him and others more effectively, with strength, clarity, and resilience.

3 John 1:2 (KJV) offers this heartfelt prayer: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Here, the apostle connects physical health to spiritual well-being. God’s design is holistic — our spiritual, emotional, and physical health are interconnected. Neglect in one area often affects the others.

🌿 Benefits of a Healthy Lifestyle:

  1. Greater Energy to Serve God and Others
When we care for our bodies, we have the strength and stamina needed for ministry, work, family, and community.

  2. Clarity of Mind for Wise Decisions
A sound body often contributes to a sound mind, enabling us to discern God’s will and make decisions with wisdom.
Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) encourages us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.

  3. Testimony of Stewardship and Discipline
A healthy lifestyle reflects a life of order, discipline, and stewardship — characteristics of a follower of Christ.
Proverbs 25:28 (KJV) says, "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls."

  4. Prolonged and Purposeful Life
While our days are ultimately in God’s hands, wise and healthy choices can contribute to a longer, more productive life of service.
Proverbs 3:1-2 (KJV) declares: "My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee."

πŸ“Œ Questions for Reflection:

  • Am I treating my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit or as my own possession?

  • In what areas of my lifestyle do I need to invite God’s wisdom and discipline?

  • How can my choices today reflect my desire to glorify God in body and spirit?

πŸ™ Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life and the body You’ve entrusted to me. Help me to be a faithful steward of my health so I may serve You with strength, joy, and clarity. Grant me discipline to make wise choices and courage to live a balanced life that honors You. May I glorify You not only in spirit but in body also, as a living testimony of Your goodness. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Faithful Stewardship: Managing God’s Resources

Faithful Stewardship
Managing God’s Resources

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."

Reflection

Stewardship is more than just managing money; it is about being responsible for everything God has entrusted to us—our time, talents, possessions, and even our relationships. As believers, we are not owners but caretakers of God’s blessings.

The Bible teaches that everything belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and He expects us to manage His resources wisely. A faithful steward recognizes that wealth, opportunities, and spiritual gifts are given not for selfish gain, but to serve God and others. When we are good stewards, we show our trust in God, who promises to provide for our needs (Philippians 4:19).

Jesus shared the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), where servants were entrusted with different amounts of money. Those who wisely invested what they had were rewarded, but the one who hid his talent in fear lost his opportunity. This teaches us that God expects us to use what He has given us for His purposes.

Principles of Stewardship

  1. God Owns Everything

    • "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." (Psalm 24:1)

    • We must acknowledge that all we have comes from God.

  2. We Are Stewards, Not Owners

    • "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1 Corinthians 4:2)

    • Everything we possess is given by God, and we are responsible for using it wisely.

  3. We Must Be Generous and Cheerful Givers

    • "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)

    • A faithful steward gives willingly and joyfully to support God’s work and help those in need.

  4. We Must Trust God as Our Provider

    • "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

    • Stewardship requires faith, trusting that God will meet our needs as we honor Him with our resources.

  5. We Will Give an Account to God

    • "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:12)

    • One day, we will stand before God and answer for how we managed His gifts.

Application

  • Evaluate your attitude toward money and possessions—are you acting as a faithful steward or an owner?

  • Be intentional in using your time, talents, and finances to glorify God.

  • Practice generosity and avoid materialism, knowing that true riches are in Christ.

Study Questions

  1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

  2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

  3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

  4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

  5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for entrusting me with resources, talents, and opportunities. Help me to be a faithful steward, using all that I have for Your glory. Teach me to give cheerfully, trust You completely, and invest in things of eternal value. May my life reflect wisdom and obedience in all that You have given me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Christian’s Attitude Toward Money

A Christian’s Attitude Toward Money

Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:19-21 (KJV)
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Reflection

Money is a necessity in life. We need it for food, shelter, and daily provisions. However, as believers, we must be careful not to allow money to rule our hearts. Jesus warned against storing treasures on earth because earthly wealth is temporary. Instead, we should focus on eternal treasures—things that bring glory to God and have lasting value in His kingdom.

The world often measures success by how much wealth a person accumulates, but the Bible teaches us that true riches are found in a life devoted to God. 1 Timothy 6:10 reminds us that "the love of money is the root of all evil." It is not money itself that is evil, but the excessive love and pursuit of it can lead us away from faith and bring spiritual harm.

A Right Perspective on Money

  1. Trust God as Your Provider

    • "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

    • Rather than placing our trust in money, we should place our trust in God, who promises to provide for our needs.

  2. Be Content and Avoid Covetousness

    • "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5)

    • A heart that is content in Christ is free from the burden of constantly chasing wealth.

  3. Be a Good Steward

    • "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1 Corinthians 4:2)

    • God entrusts us with resources, and we must manage them wisely—not for selfish gain, but for His glory.

  4. Be Generous and Give Cheerfully

    • "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)

    • God blesses those who give freely to others, especially to the poor and for His work.

  5. Seek First the Kingdom of God

    • "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

    • When we put God first, everything else—including our financial needs—falls into place according to His will.

Application

  • Examine your heart: Is money controlling you, or are you using it to serve God?

  • Trust in God’s provision rather than worrying about financial security.

  • Be a faithful steward—spend wisely, save responsibly, and give generously.

  • Invest in eternal treasures by supporting God’s work, helping others, and living a life that honors Him.

Study Questions

  1. According to Matthew 6:19-21, what is the difference between earthly treasures and heavenly treasures?

  2. What does 1 Timothy 6:10 teach about the dangers of loving money? Have you seen examples of this in real life?

  3. How can you practice good stewardship with the money and resources God has entrusted to you?

  4. Why does God want us to give cheerfully rather than grudgingly (2 Corinthians 9:7)?

  5. How does seeking God’s kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) impact our financial decisions and worries?

  6. Are there any areas in your financial life where you struggle to trust God? How can you grow in faith regarding His provision?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my provider. Help me to have a right attitude toward money—to trust You fully, be a good steward, and use what You have given me for Your glory. Guard my heart from greed and discontentment, and teach me to lay up treasures in heaven. May my financial decisions always reflect my faith in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Five Stones for Spiritual Victory | CV4 |

The Five Stones for Spiritual Victory

Text: 1 Samuel 17:40 (KJV)

"And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine."

Introduction

  • The story of David and Goliath is one of the most famous accounts in Scripture.
  • David was a young shepherd boy, yet he faced a giant that no trained soldier in Israel dared to challenge.
  • Instead of conventional weapons, David chose five smooth stones from the brook.
  • These stones can symbolize five essential spiritual weapons that believers need to defeat the giants in their lives.
  • Today, we will explore these five stones and how they help us in our spiritual battles.

I. The First Stone – Faith: Confidence in God’s Power

David’s Faith

  • David did not trust in his own strength but in God’s power.
  • He remembered God’s past deliverance from the lion and the bear.
  • 1 Samuel 17:37 – "The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine."

Faith in Our Battles

  • Faith is trusting God even when the odds are against us.
  • Hebrews 11:6 – "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
  • Giants in our lives (trials, temptations, hardships) can only be defeated when we stand firm in faith.

Application:

  • Strengthen your faith by remembering God’s past victories in your life.
  • Stand on God’s promises in difficult times.

II. The Second Stone – God’s Word: The Truth That Defeats the Enemy

David’s Understanding of God’s Covenant

  • David was confident because he knew that Goliath, as an uncircumcised Philistine, had no covenant with God.
  • He knew God’s Word had promised victory to His people.

The Power of God’s Word in Spiritual Warfare

  • Ephesians 6:17 – "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
  • Matthew 4:4 – "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
  • Jesus Himself used God’s Word to defeat Satan’s temptations in the wilderness.

Application:

  • Study and meditate on God’s Word daily.
  • Use Scripture to combat fear, doubt, and temptation.

III. The Third Stone – Prayer: Connecting with God for Strength

David’s Prayerful Life

  • David was a man of prayer and worship (many of his Psalms reflect this).
  • He likely sought God’s guidance before facing Goliath.

Prayer as a Weapon

  • Philippians 4:6 – "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17 – "Pray without ceasing."
  • Prayer is our direct line to God, bringing peace, wisdom, and strength.

Application:

  • Make prayer your first response, not your last resort.
  • Pray for wisdom and guidance in every challenge.

IV. The Fourth Stone – Courage: Boldness in the Face of Fear

David’s Boldness

  • David ran toward the battle, while others fled in fear.
  • 1 Samuel 17:48 – "David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."
  • His courage came from knowing God was with him.

God’s Command for Us to Be Courageous

  • Joshua 1:9 – "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Application:

  • Do not allow fear to stop you from obeying God.
  • Trust that God is with you and step out in faith.

V. The Fifth Stone – The Grace of God: His Strength in Our Weakness

David’s Victory Was by God’s Grace

  • David was not a trained warrior, but God’s grace empowered him.
  • Zechariah 4:6 – "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 – "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."

God’s Grace in Our Battles

  • No matter how weak we feel, God’s grace gives us the victory.
  • We must depend not on our ability but on God’s strength.

Application:

  • Rely on God’s grace, not on your own strength.
  • When you feel weak, remember that God’s power is made perfect in weakness.

Conclusion: Using the Five Stones for Victory

Recap of the Five Stones:

  1. Faith – Confidence in God’s power.
  2. God’s Word – The truth that defeats the enemy.
  3. Prayer – The source of divine strength.
  4. Courage – Boldness in the face of fear.
  5. The Grace of God – His strength working in our weakness.

Final Encouragement:

  • Just as David’s stones brought victory over Goliath, these five spiritual stones will bring victory over the giants in our lives.
  • Every believer is called to stand firm in faith, rooted in the Word, strengthened by prayer, bold in courage, and dependent on God’s grace.
  • As we face battles, we must remember: The battle is the Lord’s!

Closing Scripture:

1 Samuel 17:47 – "And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands."
