COVENANT RESET BEFORE THE JOURNEY AHEAD

COVENANT RESET BEFORE THE JOURNEY AHEAD

Principle Statement:
God always establishes covenant consciousness before kingdom movement.

This is a consistent pattern in redemptive history—not accidental, not ceremonial, but strategic.

A. Israel Left Egypt Before Sinai

Redemption precedes instruction

Israel did not receive the Law in Egypt.
They first received deliverance by blood, then identity, then direction.

1. Redemption by Covenant Blood

“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you…”
Exodus 12:13 (KJV)

  • No commandments yet

  • No tabernacle yet

  • No priesthood yet
    Only blood, obedience, and trust

👉 God did not ask Israel to improve—He asked them to believe.

2. Journey Begins Before Full Revelation

“And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud… and by night in a pillar of fire.”
Exodus 13:21 (KJV)

They moved:

  • Before Sinai

  • Before the Law

  • Before structure

👉 Covenant establishes movement; instruction follows movement.

3. Sinai Was Given to a Redeemed People

“I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt…”
Exodus 20:2 (KJV)

The Law begins with identity, not demand.

✔ Redemption first
✔ Relationship next
✔ Regulation last

B. Jesus Instituted the Supper Before the Cross

Covenant precedes sacrifice

Jesus did not wait until after resurrection to explain covenant.
He established covenant consciousness before suffering.

1. The Table Before the Trial

“With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.”
Luke 22:15 (KJV)

Before:

  • Gethsemane

  • Betrayal

  • Scourging

  • Crucifixion

There was:

  • Bread

  • Cup

  • Covenant

👉 The disciples entered crisis already grounded in covenant.

2. The Cup Defined the Meaning of the Cross

“This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”
Luke 22:20 (KJV)

The Cross was not tragedy—it was transaction.

Jesus made sure they understood:

  • This is not loss

  • This is not defeat

  • This is New Covenant activation

3. Covenant Before Mission

After resurrection, Jesus sends them—but only after covenant assurance.

“Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
John 20:21 (KJV)

👉 Mission flows from covenant security, not human strength.

C. The Church Consecrates Before Advancement

Preparation precedes expansion

This is where your prayer, fasting, and communion at the start of the year becomes profoundly prophetic.

1. Consecration Before Possession

“Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.”
Joshua 3:5 (KJV)

Israel did not cross Jordan casually.
They crossed consecrated.

👉 No new territory without renewed surrender.

2. The Early Church Followed the Same Pattern

“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…”
Acts 1:14 (KJV)

Pentecost did not fall on a distracted Church.
It fell on a waiting, praying, aligned Church.

3. Communion as Ongoing Feast

Paul teaches that the Church does not merely remember Passover—we live in it.

“Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast…”
1 Corinthians 5:7–8 (KJV)

Not once a year
Not by date
But by daily covenant consciousness

PROPHETIC APPLICATION FOR THE NEW YEAR

🔑 What God Is Saying to the Church

“Before I move you forward, I am reminding you who you are, whose you are, and what covers you.”

This is:

  • A reset, not a retreat

  • A recalibration, not a delay

  • A strengthening, not a slowing

🕊 Communion + Fasting Declares:

  • We move by blood, not bravado

  • We advance by obedience, not ambition

  • We journey by presence, not planning

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

CLOSING DECLARATION (You May Use This Publicly)

“Lord, as Israel left Egypt, as Christ set the Table, and as the Church waits in prayer—we reset our hearts in covenant before the journey ahead. We move covered, cleansed, and consecrated. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
