 The Five Dimensions of the Gospel of the Kingdom

(The Model of Jesus’ Ministry)

The clearest summary appears in:

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and **healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”
— Gospel of Matthew 4:23

This verse already shows three dimensions, but the whole Gospel narrative reveals five major expressions of the Kingdom.

1. Kingdom Proclamation

(The Announcement of God’s Rule)

Jesus first announced the Kingdom.

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
— Gospel of Matthew 4:17

Meaning

The Kingdom message declares:

• God is restoring His rule
• The Messiah has arrived
• A new order is beginning

In ancient times, a king would send heralds to proclaim his reign.
The Gospel is the royal proclamation that the King has come.

Principle

The Kingdom must first be proclaimed before it can be experienced.

Faith comes through hearing.

2. Kingdom Salvation

(Entrance into the Kingdom)

The next dimension is personal conversion.

Jesus told Nicodemus:

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
— Gospel of John 3:3

Meaning

No one can participate in God's Kingdom without spiritual rebirth.

This involves:

• repentance
• faith in Christ
• regeneration by the Holy Spirit

Principle

Salvation is the doorway into the Kingdom.

This is why the Gospel of Salvation is essential.

3. Kingdom Discipleship

(Training Citizens of the Kingdom)

Jesus did not stop with conversion.
He immediately formed disciples.

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
— Gospel of Matthew 4:19

Meaning

The Kingdom requires transformed people who live under the rule of God.

This includes:

• learning Kingdom values
• renewing the mind
• living under Christ’s authority

The greatest teaching on Kingdom culture is the Sermon on the Mount in Gospel of Matthew 5–7.

Principle

Salvation makes converts; discipleship produces Kingdom citizens.

4. Kingdom Demonstration

(Manifestation of Kingdom Power)

Jesus demonstrated the Kingdom through supernatural works.

“But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.”
— Gospel of Matthew 12:28

The Signs of the Kingdom

Jesus demonstrated the Kingdom through:

• healing the sick
• casting out demons
• raising the dead
• multiplying provision

These acts were evidence that God's rule had invaded the broken world.

Principle

The Kingdom is not only declared—it is demonstrated.

As Paul later said:

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”
— First Epistle to the Corinthians 4:20

5. Kingdom Expansion

(Multiplication Through Disciples)

Finally, Jesus expanded the Kingdom through sending disciples.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…”
— **Gospel of Matthew 28:19

This is often called the Great Commission.

The mission was to:

• preach the Gospel
• make disciples
• establish communities of believers

Principle

The Kingdom expands through multiplication.

Jesus started with 12 disciples, yet His Kingdom now spans the world.

The Complete Kingdom Model

Jesus’ ministry reveals a clear pattern:

This Kingdom model actually restores God’s design from the beginning in Book of Genesis 1:26.

Likeness of God	Discipleship forms character
Dominion of God	Kingdom power restores authority

Thus the Gospel of the Kingdom restores humanity to its original purpose.

A Major Problem in Modern Christianity

Many churches emphasize only:

Salvation → Heaven

But Jesus preached:

Salvation → Kingdom participation → World transformation

This is why Jesus prayed:

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
— Gospel of Matthew 6:10

The mission of the church is bringing heaven’s order into the earth.

The Apostolic Continuation

After Christ’s resurrection, the apostles continued preaching the Kingdom.

“Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Acts of the Apostles 28:31

Notice that the last verse of Acts still emphasizes the Kingdom.

The Final Summary

The Gospel of Salvation saves the individual.
The Gospel of the Kingdom transforms the world through saved individuals.

Salvation restores relationship with God.

The Kingdom restores God’s rule on earth through His people.
