The Kingdom Restoration Framework

The Kingdom Restoration Framework

Adam → Israel → Christ → Church → New Creation

This pattern shows how God progressively restores His original design revealed in Book of Genesis 1:26.

That verse contains three original mandates:

  1. Image

  2. Likeness

  3. Dominion

The whole biblical story is about restoring what was lost in the fall.

1. Adam — The Original Kingdom Representative

In Book of Genesis 1–2, Adam was created as:

  • the image of God

  • God's representative ruler

  • steward of the earth

“Let them have dominion…”
— Genesis 1:26

Adam’s role was essentially a king-priest under God.

But when Adam sinned in Genesis 3, three things were damaged:

Original DesignResult of the Fall
ImageSpiritual separation
LikenessMoral corruption
DominionAuthority lost to sin

Humanity became alienated from God’s rule.

2. Israel — The Kingdom Prototype Nation

God began restoring His Kingdom through the nation of Israel.

At Mount Sinai God declared:

“Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.”
Book of Exodus 19:6

Israel was meant to be:

  • God's covenant people

  • a model society under God's rule

  • a light to the nations

However, Israel repeatedly failed in this mission.

Thus the Kingdom still awaited its perfect representative.

3. Christ — The Perfect King and Second Adam

The arrival of Jesus Christ marks the decisive turning point.

Jesus is called:

“the last Adam”
First Epistle to the Corinthians 15:45

And also:

“the image of the invisible God.”
Epistle to the Colossians 1:15

Christ perfectly restores what Adam lost.

AdamChrist
First manSecond Adam
Brought sinBrought redemption
Lost dominionRestores dominion
Failed representationPerfect image of God

Jesus not only preached the Kingdom—He embodied it.

4. The Church — The Kingdom Community

After Christ’s resurrection, the Kingdom continues through the church.

Believers are described as:

“a royal priesthood, an holy nation.”
First Epistle of Peter 2:9

Notice the parallel with Exodus 19:6.

The church becomes the new covenant Kingdom community.

Through the Holy Spirit believers now:

  • reflect God’s image

  • grow in Christlike character

  • exercise spiritual authority

5. The New Creation Man

The ultimate goal is the restoration of humanity into the image of Christ.

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.”
Epistle to the Colossians 3:10

This is what you previously explored in your studies on the New Creation man.

The Kingdom restores:

Genesis DesignRestoration in Christ
ImageNew identity in Christ
LikenessChristlike character
DominionAuthority through the Spirit

Thus the believer becomes God’s restored representative on earth.

The Final Completion of the Kingdom

The Kingdom will reach its fullness when Christ returns.

“The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord.”
Book of Revelation 11:15

At that point:

  • sin is removed

  • creation is restored

  • God's rule is fully manifested

The Big Picture of Scripture

The entire Bible can actually be summarized in one storyline:

StageTheme
GenesisKingdom created
FallKingdom lost
IsraelKingdom promised
ChristKingdom inaugurated
ChurchKingdom expanded
RevelationKingdom completed

One Powerful Kingdom Insight

Here is a principle many believers overlook:

Salvation restores relationship with God.
But the Kingdom restores humanity’s original purpose.

The purpose of redemption is not only going to heaven.

It is restoring mankind as God's image-bearing rulers under Christ.
