I. THE GOSPELS – The Life & Ministry of Jesus

Jesus in the Gospels: The Messianic King (Matthew), the Servant (Mark), the Son of Man (Luke), the Son of God (John).

1. Matthew – Jesus as the Messianic King

  • Theme: Jesus as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, the King of Israel.
  • Chapter Highlights:
    • Ch. 1: Genealogy – Jesus as the Son of David (Matt. 1:1).
    • Ch. 2: Wise Men Worship – Jesus as the King of the Jews.
    • Ch. 5–7: Sermon on the Mount – Kingdom Manifesto.
