Truth Revealed in Creation || Module 2 Topic 1

Topic 1: Truth Revealed in Creation

📖 Romans 1:20 (KJV)

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse.”

I. INTRODUCTION: CREATION AS GOD’S FIRST REVELATION

Before Scripture was written, before prophets were sent, before Christ came—the heavens already preached. Creation is God’s universal sermon to all humanity. It reveals His existence, His glory, His wisdom, and His power.

Psalm 19:1–2 (KJV):

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.”

Creation speaks continuously and universally. No language barrier, no cultural divide, no nation exempt.

II. CREATION REVEALS GOD’S TRUTH AND POWER

A. God’s Invisible Qualities Are Made Visible Through Creation

Romans 1:20 teaches that the invisible things of God—His nature, power, and Godhead—are “clearly seen” through what He has made.

Two invisible realities are revealed:

  1. His Eternal Power
The sheer magnitude of the universe displays a power without limit.
    Jeremiah 10:12 (KJV):

“He hath made the earth by his power…”

  2. His Godhead (Divine Nature)
Creation shows order, intelligence, design, beauty—pointing to a Creator who is personal, wise, and divine.

B. Nature Reflects God’s Consistency and Faithfulness

Every sunrise, every season, every cycle in nature reveals a faithful God.

Genesis 8:22 (KJV):

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter,
and day and night shall not cease.”

Creation teaches:

  • God is orderly.

  • God is dependable.

  • God sustains all life.

III. CREATION TESTIFIES TO THE EXISTENCE OF THE CREATOR

Man did not invent belief in God—creation reveals Him to every generation.

Acts 14:17 (KJV):

“Nevertheless he left not himself without witness…”

Even without Scripture, the universe itself is God’s witness.

A. The heavens preach God’s glory

Psalm 19:3 (KJV):

“There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.”

Creation possesses a universal language:

  • Order speaks

  • Design speaks

  • Beauty speaks

  • Life speaks

  • Conscience interprets

No human can stand before creation and honestly conclude, “There is no God.”

B. Designed Complexity Points to a Designer

From the galaxies to the cell structure, creation shouts intelligence.

Psalm 104:24 (KJV):

“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all…”

Wisdom demands a wise Maker.

IV. MAN IS WITHOUT EXCUSE FOR DENYING GOD

This is the main point of Romans 1:20: Revelation brings responsibility.

Because creation clearly reveals God:

✔ Man cannot claim ignorance.
✔ Man cannot justify unbelief.
✔ Man is accountable for his response to God’s revelation.

A. The Moral Weight of Revelation

Romans 1:21 (KJV):

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God…”

Knowing truth but refusing it leads to judgment.

B. Suppression of Truth Is a Deliberate Choice

Romans 1:18 (KJV):

“…who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

People reject God not because of lack of evidence, but because of a love for sin.

Creation gives enough light for a seeker,
and enough evidence for the rebellious to be without excuse.

V. APPLICATIONS FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING

  1. Recognize God daily in creation.
Even simple things—sunrise, rain, seasons—are reminders of His presence.

  2. Use creation as a witnessing tool.
Paul used natural revelation when speaking to pagans (Acts 17:24–26).

  3. Respond to God’s revelation with worship.
    Creation inspires awe and humility.

  4. Guard against the spirit of unbelief.
Denying God in the face of His creation is the essence of spiritual blindness.

VI. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What specific truths about God can we learn from creation?

  2. Why does Paul say that creation leaves man “without excuse”?

  3. How can Christians use creation to point others to God?

  4. What does creation teach us about God’s character and attributes?

VII. SUMMARY TRUTH

👉 Creation is God’s universal revelation. It declares His existence, displays His eternal power, reveals His divine nature, and leaves all humanity without excuse.
