Truth Revealed in Creation || Module 2 Topic 1

Topic 1: Truth Revealed in Creation

πŸ“– Romans 1:20 (KJV)

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse.”

I. INTRODUCTION: CREATION AS GOD’S FIRST REVELATION

Before Scripture was written, before prophets were sent, before Christ came—the heavens already preached. Creation is God’s universal sermon to all humanity. It reveals His existence, His glory, His wisdom, and His power.

Psalm 19:1–2 (KJV):

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.”

Creation speaks continuously and universally. No language barrier, no cultural divide, no nation exempt.

II. CREATION REVEALS GOD’S TRUTH AND POWER

A. God’s Invisible Qualities Are Made Visible Through Creation

Romans 1:20 teaches that the invisible things of God—His nature, power, and Godhead—are “clearly seen” through what He has made.

Two invisible realities are revealed:

  1. His Eternal Power
The sheer magnitude of the universe displays a power without limit.
    Jeremiah 10:12 (KJV):

“He hath made the earth by his power…”

  2. His Godhead (Divine Nature)
Creation shows order, intelligence, design, beauty—pointing to a Creator who is personal, wise, and divine.

B. Nature Reflects God’s Consistency and Faithfulness

Every sunrise, every season, every cycle in nature reveals a faithful God.

Genesis 8:22 (KJV):

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter,
and day and night shall not cease.”

Creation teaches:

  • God is orderly.

  • God is dependable.

  • God sustains all life.

III. CREATION TESTIFIES TO THE EXISTENCE OF THE CREATOR

Man did not invent belief in God—creation reveals Him to every generation.

Acts 14:17 (KJV):

“Nevertheless he left not himself without witness…”

Even without Scripture, the universe itself is God’s witness.

A. The heavens preach God’s glory

Psalm 19:3 (KJV):

“There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.”

Creation possesses a universal language:

  • Order speaks

  • Design speaks

  • Beauty speaks

  • Life speaks

  • Conscience interprets

No human can stand before creation and honestly conclude, “There is no God.”

B. Designed Complexity Points to a Designer

From the galaxies to the cell structure, creation shouts intelligence.

Psalm 104:24 (KJV):

“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all…”

Wisdom demands a wise Maker.

IV. MAN IS WITHOUT EXCUSE FOR DENYING GOD

This is the main point of Romans 1:20: Revelation brings responsibility.

Because creation clearly reveals God:

✔ Man cannot claim ignorance.
✔ Man cannot justify unbelief.
✔ Man is accountable for his response to God’s revelation.

A. The Moral Weight of Revelation

Romans 1:21 (KJV):

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God…”

Knowing truth but refusing it leads to judgment.

B. Suppression of Truth Is a Deliberate Choice

Romans 1:18 (KJV):

“…who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

People reject God not because of lack of evidence, but because of a love for sin.

Creation gives enough light for a seeker,
and enough evidence for the rebellious to be without excuse.

V. APPLICATIONS FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING

  1. Recognize God daily in creation.
Even simple things—sunrise, rain, seasons—are reminders of His presence.

  2. Use creation as a witnessing tool.
Paul used natural revelation when speaking to pagans (Acts 17:24–26).

  3. Respond to God’s revelation with worship.
    Creation inspires awe and humility.

  4. Guard against the spirit of unbelief.
Denying God in the face of His creation is the essence of spiritual blindness.

VI. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What specific truths about God can we learn from creation?

  2. Why does Paul say that creation leaves man “without excuse”?

  3. How can Christians use creation to point others to God?

  4. What does creation teach us about God’s character and attributes?

VII. SUMMARY TRUTH

πŸ‘‰ Creation is God’s universal revelation. It declares His existence, displays His eternal power, reveals His divine nature, and leaves all humanity without excuse.

    3. How can Christians use creation to point others to God?

    1. What specific truths about God can we learn from creation?
From creation, we can learn that God is powerful, because everything around us is so big and wonderfully made. We also see that God is wise, since nature works in perfect order—day and night, seasons, and the cycle of life. Creation also shows that God is good and caring, because He provides everything we need to live. And when we look at the beauty of the world, we realize that God is creative and loves beauty.

    2. Why does Paul say that creation leaves man “without excuse”?
Paul says people are “without excuse” because creation itself already shows that there is a God. Even if someone has never read the Bible, they can look at the sky, the mountains, the stars, or even their own body and see evidence of a Creator. So no one can say, “I didn’t know God existed,” because the world around us makes God’s existence obvious.

    3. How can Christians use creation to point others to God?

Christians can use creation to point others to God by showing how nature reflects God’s character. We can talk about how the beauty, order, and design of the world suggest that someone intelligent made it. We can also use simple examples—like the detail in a flower or the stars in the sky—to explain that such amazing things couldn’t happen by accident. Creation becomes a natural way to start conversations about God’s power, love, and reality.

4.What does creation teach us about God’s character and attributes?

Creation teaches us a lot about God’s character and attributes. When we look at the world around us, we see God’s power in the size and strength of nature, His wisdom in the order and design of all living things, and His creativity in the beauty and variety of plants, animals, and landscapes. Creation also shows God’s goodness and care, because it provides everything we need to live—air, food, water, and light. Even the regular patterns of nature, like the seasons and the rising of the sun, reveal God’s faithfulness and consistency. Altogether, creation points to a God who is powerful, wise, loving, and in control.

  18. 1. What specific truths about God can we learn from creation?
From creation, we learn that God exists, He is powerful, wise, and orderly. Nature reveals His eternal power and divine nature (Romans 1:20). The beauty, complexity, and design of the universe show that there is an intelligent Creator behind it all.

    2. Why does Paul say that creation leaves man “without excuse”?
Paul says this because God has clearly revealed Himself through creation. Since God’s power and nature are evident in what He made, people cannot claim ignorance of God. Rejecting Him is not due to lack of evidence, but a choice not to acknowledge Him (Romans 1:20).

    3. How can Christians use creation to point others to God?
Christians can use creation by showing how nature reflects God’s design and purpose, sharing how the order and beauty of the world point to a Creator. They can also connect everyday experiences in nature to biblical truths and encourage gratitude and worship of God as the Maker of all things (Psalm 19:1).

    4. What does creation teach us about God’s character and attributes?
Creation teaches that God is all-powerful (omnipotent), wise, creative, faithful, and good. His care for creation shows His love and provision, while the vastness of the universe reflects His greatness and sovereignty (Psalm 104).

    1. creation reveals several specific truths about God: He exists, He is powerful, wise, orderly, faithful, good, and distinct from His creation. However, creation alone cannot reveal God’s plan of salvation or His redemptive purposes. For that deeper knowledge, humanity depends on God’s special revelation through Scripture and Jesus Christ. Creation invites all people to recognize God, while Scripture reveals how they may know Him personally.

    2. According to Paul, God has revealed Himself universally through creation. The order, complexity, and beauty of the world testify to a Creator who is eternal and powerful. This revelation is not hidden or limited to a particular group; it is accessible to all people, regardless of culture or education. Because this knowledge is plainly available, no one can legitimately claim that there was no basis for believing in God.

    3. Christians should use creation as a bridge, not an endpoint. While creation points to God’s existence and attributes, it does not reveal the gospel. Christians can move from creation to Scripture, showing how the God revealed in nature has spoken more fully through His Word and ultimately through Jesus Christ. Creation opens the door; the gospel completes the message.

    4. creation teaches that God is powerful, wise, faithful, good, creative, and transcendent. These attributes invite people to recognize God, worship Him, and seek to know Him more fully through His Word.

    1. The natural world communicates important truths about God. It shows that God is real and displays His power, wisdom, order, faithfulness, goodness, and His distinction from creation. However, nature by itself cannot explain God’s plan for salvation or His work of redemption. To understand these truths, people must rely on God’s special revelation found in the Bible and in Jesus Christ. Creation draws people’s attention to God, while Scripture explains how they can have a personal relationship with Him.

    2. Paul teaches that God has made Himself known to everyone through creation. The structure, beauty, and complexity of the universe point to a Creator who is eternal and all-powerful. This revelation is available to all people, not just a specific group or culture. Since God’s existence is clearly displayed in creation, no one can reasonably say that there was no evidence of Him.

    3. Believers should view creation as a starting point, not the final message. Nature reveals God’s existence and character, but it does not present the message of salvation. Christians can begin with creation and then lead others to the Scriptures, explaining how God has fully revealed Himself through His Word and through Jesus Christ. Creation prepares the way, but the gospel provides complete understanding.

    4. Through creation, people can see that God is powerful, wise, faithful, good, creative, and beyond human limitations. These qualities encourage individuals to acknowledge God, worship Him, and desire a deeper knowledge of Him through the Bible.

    FRIDAY (3:30-4:30)

    1. Creation reveals God's mighty power, wisdom, orderliness, faithfulness, and divine nature through its vastness and great complexity. The predictable cycles within nature reveal God's dependability and faithfulness.

    2. Paul has said that all men are "without excuse" in regard to God, as all men throughout history have been able to see God, the qualities of God, and existence of God through nature. Nature speaks (or witnesses) to us all equally.

    3. Christians can present evidence for Christ through the design and creation of the universe. When we discuss the universe in relationship to God's attributes, it creates a sense of awe and reverence for God. Illustrating God's creation can be done using common items such as sunrises, seasons, etc., and can assist others in developing a faith in God.

    4. Creation bears witness to God's power, wisdom, and orderliness.
