This packet follows the official SWEC 4 syllabus and is organized into five instructional modules that match the weekly topics. Study each module in sequence. Complete the pre-assessment before reading the lesson, work through the content and activities, then submit the assessment tasks on or before the due date set by the instructor.

Description	This course introduces comprehensive professional social work services that respond to the psychosocial needs of patients and their families and enable them to participate in the realization of their optimal well-being.

 

General Learning Outcomes

Cognitive

1. Introduce the historical developments of Social Work in medical settings, its existing status, and its development.

2. Discuss the different health care models that are helpful for Medical Social Workers.

Affective

1. Develop a deeper understanding of common physical diseases and health problems of the community.

2. Develop the capacity to perceive the relation of environment and socio-cultural and psychological factors in the causation, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Psychomotor

1. Calibrate the knowledge, attitude, and skills of Medical Social Workers.

2. Prepare a comprehensive Mental Health Wellness Plan as Medical Social Workers.

Grading System

Prelim Grade (PG) = [(Class Standing × 2) + Exam Equivalent] ÷ 3

Midterm Grade (MG) = (PG + Class Standing + Exam Equivalent) ÷ 3

Final Grade (FG) = (MG + Class Standing + Exam Equivalent) ÷ 3
