Introduction
The story of every human life is a journey — from the original goodness in which we were created, through the brokenness that entered our world, and back again to the wholeness God has always intended for us.
This manual, The Divine Journey to Wholeness, is written for those who long to experience the full restoration Christ offers. It is not a theoretical study, but a practical guide for personal devotion, house churches, small groups, and anyone seeking deep healing in spirit, soul, and relationships.
Drawing directly from Scripture, the manual follows the grand biblical narrative: God’s original design in Eden, the devastating impact of the Fall, the redemptive work of Christ the Divine Physician, and the step-by-step process of restoration that leads to mature sonship and Kingdom purpose.
Each chapter builds upon the previous one, offering clear teaching, full scripture references, personal reflection questions, responsive prayers, and house church discussion guides. You are encouraged to move through the material slowly — allowing the Holy Spirit to apply truth to your specific life circumstances.

Chapter 1
Created for Wholeness God’s Original Design for Humanity
Theme
Before humanity experienced brokenness, God designed us for blessing, belonging, purpose, and wholeness. Redemption is ultimately God’s work of restoring what was lost in Eden through Christ, the Second Adam.

Historical Orientation: Before Brokenness
Every journey begins with understanding where we came from. A person who does not know their original identity will struggle to understand their present condition. A damaged masterpiece can only be restored properly when the original design of the Creator is known.
The story of humanity does not begin with sin. It begins with God.
Before there was a Garden filled with temptation, there was a Creator filled with purpose. Before shame, fear, and hiding, there was dignity, identity, and communion. Before death, there was life. Before fractured relationships, there was perfect fellowship.
The first chapter of Genesis reveals God’s intention for everything He created:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1
The Bible does not begin with humanity’s search for God. It begins with God’s initiative toward humanity. The foundation of human existence was the intentional design of a loving God.
Core Truth: Humanity was created good, became broken through sin, and is being restored through redemption. The end of the story returns us to God’s original intention — but in a greater and more glorious way through Jesus Christ.
The Heart Behind Creation
God did not create because He was incomplete. Creation was the overflow of God’s goodness.
“God is love.” — 1 John 4:8
Love is who God is. Humanity was created because God desired us. Our worth was established before our works. Our identity existed before our achievements.
Created in the Image of God
Among all creation, humanity received a unique distinction:
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” — Genesis 1:26
We were designed to reflect God’s character: love in relationships, wisdom in decisions, creativity in work, righteousness in character, compassion in actions, and authority through faithful stewardship.
The tragedy of the Fall was losing sight of who we were created to be.
Eden: More Than a Garden
Eden was the place where heaven and earth met — the place of unhindered fellowship with God. The greatest blessing was God’s presence.
“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…” — Genesis 3:8
From Eden to the New Jerusalem, God’s desire remains unchanged: God desires to dwell with His people. The entire story of redemption is the journey back home.
Humanity’s First Calling
Before sin, God gave humanity a mission:
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it…” — Genesis 1:28
Identity came before assignment. Relationship came before responsibility. Work and stewardship were joyful before the Fall corrupted them.
Kingdom Principle: We do not serve God to become accepted. We serve God because we have already been accepted by Him.
Christ: The Perfect Image Restored
Jesus Christ — the image of the invisible God — came not only to forgive sins but to restore what sin destroyed.
Reflection: Returning to the Original Design
Before asking “What is wrong with me?” ask: “What was I created to be?” You were created by God, in the image of God, for relationship with God, and for a purpose under God. Everything else flows from this truth.

3. What would it look like to live from acceptance rather than striving for it?
Prayer of Response Heavenly Father, thank You that I am not an accident but intentionally created in Your image. Restore in me the wholeness of Your original design. Help me see myself as You see me and walk in the purpose for which I was made. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
