URGENT! THIS CULT IS DANGEROUS!
Many have messaged us RECENTLY about this cult that has popped up in the Philippines using AGGRESSIVE tactics to recruit new members, specifically among pastors and church leaders.
AND NOW THEY HAVE A PAGE CALLED "MISSION FOR PHILIPPINES"
They are really a cult, led by a cult leader, and use grossly immoral tactics for recruitment.
Here are some FACTS:
- This cult is REALLY called “Shincheonji Church of Jesus.”
- This cult is run by “Lee Man-Hee,” who is called “Chairman Lee” and claims to be a Messiah.
(This is FALSE TEACHING. There is only one Messiah: Jesus Christ, as Ephesians 4:5 says)
- Mr. Lee claims only he is able to interpret the Biblical book of Revelation properly because only he has been given the secrets to its parables.
(This is FALSE TEACHING. No one has been given "secret knowledge" of interpretation. You will find this nowhere in the Bible.)
- Mr. Lee also claims to be immortal, and only a select 144,000 of adherents to his cult will receive eternal life. All of his cult members go through life hoping they will be one of the few selected by Mr. Lee for eternal life.
(This is FALSE TEACHING. 1 John 1:8-9 say ALL sin and Romans 6:23 says therefore ALL die, which Hebrews 9:27 declares. Salvation comes by Christ alone in Romans 10:9-13, not by a self-proclaimed Messiah. Lee's 144,000 interpretation is exegetical gymnastics.)
- Lee’s cult uses DECEPTIVE and IMMORAL tactics to recruit new members, specifically pastors and church leaders
(This is FALSE TEACHING. We are called to SPEAK THE TRUTH, not deceive in Ephesians 4:14-15)
- This cult offers “free seminary and theology studies” TO FILIPINO CHRISTIANS, PASTORS, and CHURCH LEADERS to trick them into joining the cult.
(This is FALSE TEACHING IN PRACTICE. No need to trick people if what you preach is true.)
- They do NOT believe in the Trinity. They believe God shows up "in three forms," but not that God is Triune. This is the heresy of modalism. It isn't coincidence that the majority of cults deny the Trinity.
