Faithful Stewardship: Managing God’s Resources

Faithful Stewardship
Managing God’s Resources

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."

Reflection

Stewardship is more than just managing money; it is about being responsible for everything God has entrusted to us—our time, talents, possessions, and even our relationships. As believers, we are not owners but caretakers of God’s blessings.

The Bible teaches that everything belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and He expects us to manage His resources wisely. A faithful steward recognizes that wealth, opportunities, and spiritual gifts are given not for selfish gain, but to serve God and others. When we are good stewards, we show our trust in God, who promises to provide for our needs (Philippians 4:19).

Jesus shared the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), where servants were entrusted with different amounts of money. Those who wisely invested what they had were rewarded, but the one who hid his talent in fear lost his opportunity. This teaches us that God expects us to use what He has given us for His purposes.

Principles of Stewardship

  1. God Owns Everything

    • "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." (Psalm 24:1)

    • We must acknowledge that all we have comes from God.

  2. We Are Stewards, Not Owners

    • "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1 Corinthians 4:2)

    • Everything we possess is given by God, and we are responsible for using it wisely.

  3. We Must Be Generous and Cheerful Givers

    • "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)

    • A faithful steward gives willingly and joyfully to support God’s work and help those in need.

  4. We Must Trust God as Our Provider

    • "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

    • Stewardship requires faith, trusting that God will meet our needs as we honor Him with our resources.

  5. We Will Give an Account to God

    • "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:12)

    • One day, we will stand before God and answer for how we managed His gifts.

Application

  • Evaluate your attitude toward money and possessions—are you acting as a faithful steward or an owner?

  • Be intentional in using your time, talents, and finances to glorify God.

  • Practice generosity and avoid materialism, knowing that true riches are in Christ.

    Study Questions

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?
Being a steward means taking care of something that belongs to someone else. In this case, it’s everything God has given us time, talents, money, and relationships. 1 Corinthians 4:2 emphasizes that a steward must be faithful, meaning we should use these resources wisely and responsibly for God’s purposes. For me, it’s about recognizing that even my college education and skills are gifts from God, and I should use them to serve others and honor Him.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?
Psalm 24:1 reminds us that everything belongs to God, which challenges the idea that we own anything. It’s a humbling reminder that all our possessions, talents, and even our lives are on loan from God. This helps me see that my college degree, my laptop, or even my apartment aren’t truly mine but are entrusted to me to use for good.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?
God loves a cheerful giver because it shows trust and gratitude towards Him. When I give willingly and joyfully, it reflects that I believe God will provide for me and that I’m using His resources to bless others. Generosity is a key part of good stewardship because it shows we’re not hoarding God’s gifts for ourselves but using them to serve Him and others. For example, volunteering at a local charity or donating to a campus food bank helps me feel connected to God’s work and reminds me that everything I have is meant to be shared.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?
To trust God more, I try to pray about my financial decisions and seek guidance from His Word. Instead of stressing about how I’ll afford things, I remind myself of Philippians 4:19, that God will supply my needs. It’s also helpful to surround myself with people who encourage faith and trust in God’s provision.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?
Romans 14:12 reminds us that we will give an account to God for how we managed His gifts. This motivates me to be responsible because I know I’ll answer for how I used my time, talents, and resources. It’s not just about avoiding mistakes but also about using everything for God’s glory and the good of others. This mindset helps me prioritize my actions and decisions, ensuring they align with God’s will.

  3. 1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?
To be a steward means to be someone entrusted with managing or taking care of something that belongs to someone else. In biblical terms, a steward is someone responsible for managing God's resources. This could include time, talents, money, relationships, or even spiritual gifts in a way that honors Him. 1 Corinthians 4:2 (ESV) says:
"Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful."

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?
    Psalm 24:1 (ESV) says:
"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein."
This verse directly challenges the idea of personal ownership by declaring that everything belongs to God, the earth itself, everything in it, and even the people who live on it. So, Psalm 24:1 invites us to move from an attitude of entitlement to one of humble stewardship, recognizing that all we have is a gift from God to be used for His purposes.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

    2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV) says:
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Generosity shows that we recognize what we have isn’t truly ours. It’s God’s, and we’re simply managing it. And when we give with that mindset, we're living out exactly what it means to be a faithful steward.

    4. Trusting God in financial or life decisions is a journey of faith that calls for surrender, obedience, and a deep understanding of God's character. In a world that often promotes self-reliance and control, learning to depend on God challenges our instincts and reshapes our priorities. Trusting Him doesn't mean avoiding responsibility or ignoring wisdom; rather, it means aligning our hearts and choices with His will, believing that He knows and desires what is best for us.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?
    Romans 14:12 (ESV) says:
“So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
This verse underscores a powerful truth: we are accountable to God for how we live our lives and how we use what He has entrusted to us. That includes our time, talents, money, relationships, and opportunities.

    1. Corinthians 4:2 defines stewardship by saying, "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful." This verse highlights that the essence of stewardship is faithfulness. Those who are entrusted with responsibilities (whether spiritual, material, or otherwise) are expected to manage them in a trustworthy and responsible manner, reflecting integrity, accountability, and loyalty to the one who entrusted them—God. In other words, stewardship isn't about owning or accumulating, but about faithfully carrying out the duties and responsibilities given to us by God.

    2. Psalm 24:1 states, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." This verse challenges the idea of personal ownership by emphasizing that everything belongs to God. It suggests that human beings are stewards rather than ultimate owners of the earth and everything in it. According to this perspective, the concept of personal ownership is put into context as temporary and contingent upon God's sovereignty. It calls people to recognize that all resources, wealth, and possessions are entrusted to them by God and should be used in alignment with His will, rather than as personal assets to claim and control independently.

    3. Generosity reflects good stewardship because it acknowledges that everything we have belongs to God and is entrusted to us for a greater purpose. As stewards, we are called to manage not only our resources but also our hearts. Generosity is a way of demonstrating that we recognize the blessings we've received and are willing to use them to bless others. A good steward doesn't hoard resources but uses them wisely and generously to meet needs, advance God's kingdom, and reflect His love and provision. In this way, generosity is an expression of faithfulness in stewardship.

    4. Trusting God more in financial or life decisions involves several key aspects that align with faith, prayer, and relying on His guidance. Ultimately, trusting God in your decisions is about submitting your plans to Him, having faith that He will guide you, and trusting that His plans are better than your own.

5.The responsibility comes from the understanding that everything we have—our talents, possessions, and opportunities—are entrusted to us by God. We are stewards, not owners. This means that how we use these gifts matters, and we will give an account to God for our choices. Whether we live with integrity, generosity, or faithfulness in our decisions, God will judge how well we have honored Him with what He has provided.

    1. To be steward means to manage or care for something on behalf of another person. In 1 Corinthians 4:2 "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." This verse highlights the need for stewards to manage the trust or responsibility entrusted to them with faithfulness.

    2. By highlighting the fact that everything, including the land, resources, and even people, ultimately belongs to God, Psalm 24:1 challenges the idea of personal ownership. It serves as a reminder that since God is in charge of all creation, human ownership is transient and finite.

    3. This principle is related to the idea that giving is not about obligation but rather about a willing, joyful heart, as stated in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "God loves a cheerful giver." Generosity is a sign of good stewardship because it recognizes that we have been given material belongings to utilize for the betterment of others and God's kingdom, not for our own personal gain.

    4. Making life and financial decisions with faith in God can be difficult but incredibly fulfilling. Recognizing that God is the ultimate provider is one of the most important ways to trust Him. When we put our financial trust in God, we know that He will provide for us even it feels uncertain.

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

To be a steward means being entrusted with something valuable that isn’t truly ours—we are caretakers. 1 Corinthians 4:2 emphasizes that a steward must be found faithful. As an education student, I feel this deeply because I know I’ve been given talents, opportunities, and time by God, and I must use them responsibly—not just for my own success but to serve others and glorify Him. I’m reminded that faithfulness in the small things is just as important as the big ones.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

This verse really puts everything into perspective. “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” reminds me that nothing I have is truly mine—not my money, not my education, not even my future. As someone who’s studying to become a teacher, I often think of my career as “my path,” but Psalm 24:1 challenges that mindset. It’s all God’s, and I’m just here to manage what He’s placed in my hands.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

God loves a cheerful giver because giving with joy shows that our hearts are aligned with His. It means we trust Him and value His work more than material things. As a student, I don’t have a lot of money, but I’ve learned that generosity isn’t just about cash—it’s about sharing my time, energy, and skills. Whether it’s tutoring a classmate or helping in church, giving joyfully reflects that I’m managing God’s blessings with the right heart.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

This question hits home. As an education student, there are times I stress about tuition, job prospects, or even if I’m “good enough” for the classroom. Trusting God more means surrendering those fears and believing He will provide. It means remembering Philippians 4:19 when I feel uncertain and choosing to act in faith—even when the budget is tight or when plans don’t go the way I expect.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

Romans 14:12 reminds me that one day, I’ll have to explain how I used everything God gave me—my time, energy, and gifts. That accountability pushes me to live intentionally, even as a student. It motivates me to study hard, treat others well, and use my education not just for myself but to make a difference. I want to be able to say, “Lord, I did my best with what You gave me.”

  18. This statement emphasizes the importance of faithfulness as a crucial quality for someone in a position of stewardship. A steward, in its broadest sense, is someone entrusted with responsibility over something – whether it be property, resources, people, or even information. The quote highlights that trustworthiness and reliability are paramount for anyone holding such a position. A lack of faithfulness would betray the trust placed in them and potentially lead to significant harm or loss.

  19. 1. To be a steward means to take care of something that belongs to someone else. 1 Corinthians 4:2 says that the most important thing for a steward is to be faithful. That means doing your job well, being honest, and doing what you were asked to do even when no one is watching.

    2. Psalm 24:1 "says that the whole world and everything in it belongs to God". In simple words, this means that God owns everything, not us. So even if we say, “This is my house” or “my money,” this verse reminds us that it’s really God’s, and we’re just borrowing it or taking care of it for a while.

    3. God loves a cheerful giver because they give with a happy heart, not because they have to, but because they want to. Generosity shows good stewardship because it means you're wisely using what God gave you to help others.

    Faithful Stewardship: Managing God's Resources

    STUDY QUESTIONS:

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

    > Being a steward does not merely just manage money or resources given to you, it is about how responsible, faithfully and wisely you take care of these such as the time, talents, possessions, and even relationships entrusted to you by God. 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship as a responsibility for a man to be faithful for all we possess that is given by God. For all of these are not ours and only we are the care takers of what God has given us.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

    > The verse challenges the idea of personal ownership in a way that it's because we do not really own what we have. All of our belongings even if we are the owner's name stated, all of these things are from God, none of ours. He expects us to take care of what He has given us and be faithfully responsible for it. God created the whole world and He controls everything so all in it are His not ours so we should not boast and take credit on what we gain.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

    > God loves a cheerful giver because His kingdom expands in this way. It showcases how God provides to people who are in need by the use of us being His stewards, so generosity reflects good stewardship because this reflects how well we manage the resources God gives us. If we tend to share the blessings we have, it showcases that we are trustworthy to be entrusted by God of things/resources. If we are a responsible giver God won't stop to give His blessings to us because it's like a faucet continually pouring, if we give, God also won't stop to give to us.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

    > I can trust God more in financial or life decisions in a way that if God gave me finances I won't think of it as my own rather I'll be responsible to take care of it and know my priorities then if given more I will share my blessings and not be greedy. And in life decisions I will always consider what God wants through His words, I will not decide spontaneously rather I will think and analyze things carefully and check in the Bible if it's what God wants and of course ask His guidance through prayer.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

    > It is important to be responsible with what God has given us because He trusts us with these things and if we fail to manage it with our life today how can we expect God to bless us more or give us possessions someday especially in eternal value. So it is crucial to manage even the little things given to us today, not just finances/resources but also, talents, time relationships with others 'cause if we use it appropriately today or faithfully responsible act to it we can assure that now in our time God will multiply the blessings, talents, resources He has given us if we use it for His glory and to others.

    1. Being a steward involves handling or taking care of someone else's property. According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, being faithful that is, dependable and trustworthy with what we have been given is the most crucial trait for a steward.

2.Psalm 24:1 says that the entire earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord. This puts into question our understanding of "ownership" by reminding us that God is the true owner of our money, skills, and time. We are just holding onto these things for Him, so we should use them the way He wants us to.

3.God is delighted of cheerful givers because He desires that our generosity originate from a joyful heart rather than from a sense of obligation or frustration. Being generous demonstrates good stewardship since it demonstrates that we are not being selfish with God's resources and that we wish to use His blessings to benefit others.

4.By keeping in mind that He is the provider, we can have faith in Him. As stated in Philippians 4:19, we can pray and trust that God will provide exactly what we need rather than stressing or worrying about the future. He will meet every need we have. Before making important decisions, we might pray and concentrate on being given rather than worrying about money or the future. To trust Him is to prioritise His goals and have faith that He will handle everything.

5.We shall all eventually have to "give an account" to God, according to Romans 14:12. This means that one day, we will talk to God about how we used the life, talents, and resources He gave us. Being responsible now ensures that we have a good report to give Him later.

This changes our mindset from being owners to caretakers. Instead of using everything only for ourselves, we should manage God’s gifts wisely and use them to honor Him and bless other people.

    3. God loves a cheerful giver because giving should come from love and gratitude, not from pressure or selfish motives. A joyful giver reflects a heart that trusts God completely. Generosity is part of good stewardship because it shows willingness to share God’s blessings with others, support His work, and help those in need without complaining or expecting something in return.

    4. We can trust God more by remembering that He is our provider and source of strength. Philippians 4:19 assures us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches. Instead of living in fear or anxiety, we should pray, seek God’s guidance, and make decisions that honor Him. Trusting God means believing that He knows what is best for our future.

    5. Romans 14:12 teaches that every person will one day answer to God for how they lived and managed His blessings. This reminds us to be responsible with our actions, talents, and resources. Knowing that we will give an account encourages us to live wisely, faithfully, and obediently so that our lives will please God and bring glory to Him.

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

To be a steward is to assume the role of a manager or caretaker who manages another person’s property. Biblically, being a steward is an acknowledgment that we do not have ownership over anything but are merely stewards of that which has been placed under our care. According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, the key element of stewardship is faithfulness. While this involves managing a certain amount of property, faithfulness refers to the consistency with which this property is managed – and the willingness to manage according to the will of the owner.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

Psalm 24:1 says that “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.” This changes our paradigm completely. Here, “private property” becomes a second-level concept that applies only to humans. Since God owns everything, including the earth and everything in it, what we perceive to be ours is really on loan to us. By doing away with the idea that we can do as we please with our possessions, it takes away our rights to do as we please. Our attitudes change from being proud (or fearful) to being faithful (and accountable).

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

God loves a cheerful giver because a joyful heart indicates that the individual is free from being a slave to their possessions. By giving cheerfully, one is demonstrating a heart that no longer lives under the fear of lack but has embraced God's abundant blessings. It is clear that the heart has shifted from fear for scarcity to faith in God's provision. Generosity is an expression of stewardship. It confirms that the believer is aware that everything was put on loan to him/her in order to share. The giver is a channel through whom God's blessing flows, not a pool of stored up blessings.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

By seeking divine wisdom, the believer trusts God in these matters. Consulting the Bible and prayer prior to large purchases and career changes. Spending time and finances in ministry to others. Giving first to God and recognizing Philippians 4:19 that it is ultimately God that provides all needs.

    5. What makes it important to be responsible for what God has provided us with, according to Romans 14:12?

In Romans 14:12, it says, "For each of us will give an account of himself to God." It is necessary to be responsible because there is an "accounting to come." We are being observed by our Creator. Responsibility reflects our appreciation of the things that God values. Because we know that at some point we will have to face Him, how we manage our time, talent, and treasures today is evidence of our devotion to Him.

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

To be a steward means to be a manager or caretaker of everything God has given us, because we do not truly own anything everything belongs to God. We are only responsible for using and taking care of His resources wisely. According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, a steward is required to be found faithful. This means the most important thing is not how much we have or do, but that we are loyal, honest, and trustworthy in taking care of what God entrusted to us.
    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” This clearly tells us that God is the owner of everything, including the world, all things in it, and even our own lives. It challenges the idea that we can claim anything as “mine” or “my own,” because everything comes from Him and belongs to Him alone. We only have things temporarily, and we must use them according to His will.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

God loves a cheerful giver because giving shows what is truly in our heart. When we give happily and willingly, not out of duty or force, it shows that we trust God, love others, and value Him more than material things. Generosity reflects good stewardship because God blesses us so we can bless others. A faithful steward knows that resources are meant to be shared and used for good, and giving freely proves that we understand everything we have is a gift from God.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

I can trust God more by remembering His promise in Philippians 4:19 that He will supply all my needs. Instead of worrying or being greedy, I will seek His will first, use my resources wisely, and give generously, believing that He is my Provider. When making decisions, I will ask: “Does this honor God? Is this right? Will this help me or others grow?” I will also stop chasing wealth or security on my own, and instead rely on God’s faithfulness, knowing He holds my future and will take care of me.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

Romans 14:12 reminds us that “every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” One day, we will stand before God and answer for how we used everything He gave us our time, talents, money, and opportunities. It is important to be responsible because we are accountable to the real Owner. Being faithful now means we respect God, honor His trust, and prepare ourselves to hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

  48. 1.
To be a steward means to be a caretaker, not an owner, of everything God has entrusted to you—your time, talents, possessions, and relationships. 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV) defines stewardship by saying, _"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."_ This means God expects us to manage His resources faithfully and responsibly, not for selfish gain but for His purposes.

    2.
Psalm 24:1 says, _"The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."_ This challenges the idea of personal ownership by reminding us that everything belongs to God. We don’t own what we have—He does. Our role is to acknowledge that all we have comes from Him and to manage it wisely as His stewards.

    3.
2 Corinthians 9:7 says God loves _"a cheerful giver,"_ meaning He values giving that comes willingly and joyfully, not out of obligation or reluctance. Generosity reflects good stewardship because a faithful steward gives willingly to support God’s work and help those in need. It shows trust that God is the provider and that true riches are found in Him, not in holding onto possessions.

    4.
I can trust God more by remembering Philippians 4:19: _"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."_ This means praying before making decisions, giving faithfully even when it feels risky, and believing that God will meet my needs as I honor Him with my resources. Stewardship requires faith that God is my provider, not my money or abilities.

    5.
Romans 14:12 says, _"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."_ It’s important to be responsible because one day we will stand before God and answer for how we managed His gifts. Being a faithful steward now shows obedience, wisdom, and trust in God, and prepares us to give a good account when that time comes.

    Faithful Stewardship Managing God’s Resources
    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?
Dahil darating ang araw na lahat tayo ay magsusulit o magpapaliwanag kay Lord kung paano natin ginamit at inalagaan ang lahat ng ibinigay Niya sa atin. Kaya kailangan nating maging responsable.

    A Christian’s Attitude Toward Money

    1. According to Matthew 6:19-21, what is the difference between earthly treasures and heavenly treasures?

    2. What does 1 Timothy 6:10 teach about the dangers of loving money? Have you seen examples of this in real life?

    3. How can you practice good stewardship with the money and resources God has entrusted to you?
Sa pamamagitan ng: paggastos nang matalino, pag-iipon nang tama, pagbibigay nang masaya para sa gawain ni Lord at sa nangangailangan, at paggamit ng lahat para luwalhatiin Siya.

    4. Why does God want us to give cheerfully rather than grudgingly (2 Corinthians 9:7)?

    5. How does seeking God's kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) impact our financial decisions and worries?

    6. Are there any areas in your financial life where you struggle to trust God? How can you grow in faith regarding His provision?

Week 6: FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP MANAGING GOD'S RESOURCES

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

    > Being a steward means recognizing that we are caretakers rather than owners of everything we have. Our main job according to 1 Corinthians 4:2 isn't to be incredibly successful or flawless, but simply to be dependable and faithful with what He has placed in our hands.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

    > Psalm 24:1 gently reminds us that we are just visiting a world where everything already belongs to God, which completely changes how we look at our bank accounts and material things. When we stop viewing life as a competition to own stuff and start seeing it as a privilege to manage it, our natural urge to hold on tightly turns into genuine gratitude.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

    > When we give happily rather than out of obligation, it shows our hearts are reflecting God's own generosity and that we value our relationship with Him over financial security. Generosity is the ultimate proof of good stewardship because it shifts our focus outward, transforming our resources into tools that bless other people and honor the One who gave them to us.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

    > Trusting God with our life and finances means holding our plans with an open hand and intentionally giving back to Him first, even when the future feels blurry or insecure. By stepping back to seek His guidance before making big moves, we trade our daily anxiety for a quiet confidence that He will always show up and provide exactly what we need.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

    > Romans 14:12 is a powerful reminder that our lives aren't just random, meaning every daily decision we make with our time and money is actually a quiet conversation about how much we respect God. Knowing that we will eventually sit down and talk through our journey with Him shouldn't scare us, but rather inspire us to stop drifting and start pouring our energy into things that genuinely matter.

    2. Psalms 24:1 reminds us that God is the true owner of everything on earth. This is a challenge to stop our thought life of being selfish and allow people to see how our blessings are from Him.

    3. God loves a cheerful giver, man or woman who gives in a generous manner as it shows a sincere and grateful heart. We model kind behavior, proper submission, and reliance on God's provision when we express our gratitude for his blessings with glad hearts.

    4. I can be more confident in God's plan by relying on God rather than my own reasoning in challenging times. As I follow His teachings and pray regularly I can have peace and confidence in His plans.

    5. Each one will be judged "accountable" according to Romans 14:12 in his/her lifestyle. From this, it is important to treat our opportunities, possessions and our abilities with care and in good use.

  53. 1.What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?

A steward is a helper who takes care of someone else's things, and 1 Corinthians 4:2 says the most important job for a steward is to be faithful.

Being a steward means knowing that my life, time, and money are not actually mine, but they belong to God. 1 Corinthians 4:2 teaches us that God does not ask us to be rich or famous, but He just wants us to be faithful and trustworthy with what He gives us.

2.How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?

Psalm 24:1 shows us that we do not own anything because the whole world and everything in it belongs to God.

It is easy to think "this is my money" or "these are my things," but this verse changes that. We can only obey 1 Corinthians 4:2 and be faithful managers if we first admit that God is the real owner of everything we have.

3.Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?

God loves a cheerful giver because giving happily shows that we share His kind heart and trust Him to take care of us.

When we share with others gladly, we prove that we are not greedy or scared of running out of money. Generosity shows we are following 1 Corinthians 4:2 by being faithful to share the Master's blessings with people who need them.

4.In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?

You can trust God more by praying before you spend money or make big choices instead of just worrying about the future.

Trusting God means asking Him what He wants me to do with my choices and my budget. When we stop worrying and follow His rules, it helps us stay faithful like 1 Corinthians 4:2 talks about, because we know God will always take care of us.

5.According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?

It is important to be responsible because Romans 14:12 says that one day everyone will have to explain their choices to God.

Life is like a test, and we will have to show God how we used the gifts and time He loaned to us. This connects perfectly to 1 Corinthians 4:2 because knowing we have to talk to God later makes us want to be faithful servants right now.

    FRIDAY 1:45-2:45

    1. What does it mean to serve as a steward, and what does 1 Corinthians 4:2 say about this role?
To be a steward is to serve as a reliable guardian or administrator of assets or duties that belong to another person, rather than claiming them as your own. As explained in 1 Corinthians 4:2, the main standard God sets for a steward is faithfulness—meaning being consistent, trustworthy, and dedicated to the duties placed in your care.
    2. How does Psalm 24:1 reshape our perspective on possessing things?
Psalm 24:1 declares that God is the owner of the whole earth and everything living within it. This teaching shifts the idea of ownership by showing us that nothing is ours to keep forever; we simply manage and utilize what God made and what He holds full rights over.
    3. As noted in 2 Corinthians 9:7, why is God pleased when people give gladly? And how does being open-handed reflect proper stewardship?
God appreciates those who give joyfully and voluntarily because it reveals their actions are driven by love and trust, not by duty or force. Being generous is a mark of good stewardship because it shows we recognize that our blessings are intended to bring glory to God and support others, instead of being hoarded only for ourselves.
    4. How can you grow in trusting God when making choices regarding finances or your life path?
You can build greater trust in God by putting Him first in how you manage what you have, trusting that He knows exactly what you require, and having faith that He will sustain and guide you whenever you seek to honor Him.
    5. From the teaching in Romans 14:12, why is it necessary to take responsibility for what God has entrusted to us?
We must be careful and accountable because there will come a time when every person stands before God to report exactly how they used every talent, opportunity, and resource that He has entrusted to their charge.

    1. What does it mean to be a steward, and how does 1 Corinthians 4:2 define stewardship?
To be a steward means we are managers or caretakers of all that God has given us, not owners of it. 1 Corinthians 4:2 defines it by saying that to be a good steward, a person must be found faithful in how they handle and use the resources, gifts, and responsibilities entrusted to them.

    2. How does Psalm 24:1 challenge the idea of personal ownership?
Psalm 24:1 says the earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord. This teaches us that nothing we have is truly our own; all things come from God and belong to Him, so we do not have absolute ownership but only the responsibility to manage what He has given us.

    3. Why does God love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)? How does generosity reflect good stewardship?
God loves a cheerful giver because He values the heart and attitude behind the giving, not just the amount given. Generosity shows that we recognize God as the source of all we have, and it reflects good stewardship by using our blessings to help others, support God’s work, and live with a heart that is willing to share what God has provided.

    4. In what ways can you trust God more in financial or life decisions?
I can trust God by relying on His promises as my Provider, using my resources to honor Him rather than chasing material things, and believing that He will supply all my needs according to His riches. I will also make decisions guided by His wisdom rather than worrying about having enough, knowing He is in control of my life and resources.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, why is it important to be responsible with what God has given us?
Romans 14:12 teaches that every person will give an account of themselves to God. This means we are responsible because one day we will stand before God and answer for how we used His gifts, time, talents, and resources. Being responsible shows respect for God’s trust and ensures we use everything He has given us properly and for His purposes.

    FRIDAY (1:45-2:45)

    1. To be a steward means to be a caretaker of things that do not belong to us, but instead belong to God. According to 1 Corinthians 4:2, the most important requirement for a steward is to be found faithful. This means God does not demand that we be the richest, most successful, or smartest people in the world. Instead, He looks at our hearts and cares about how we handle the unique gifts, talents, and resources He has trusted us with. Our main job is to use His gifts in a trustworthy way that brings honor to His name. God values our loyalty and obedience far more than the size of our worldly achievements, which means anyone can be a good steward simply by being faithful with what they have.

    2. Psalm 24:1 completely changes how we look at our possessions by reminding us that the entire earth, everything in it, and every person living on it belong entirely to the Lord. This verse directly challenges the idea of personal ownership because it shows that we do not actually own anything in this world permanently. The things we think we own—like our money, house, clothes, and even our lives—are actually not ours at all. Since God is the true creator and owner of all things, we are simply temporary caretakers trusted to manage His wealth in a responsible and holy way. Understanding this truth takes away our anxiety about material things, because we realize our only real duty is to use these blessings according to His good will instead of our own selfish desires.

    3. God loves a cheerful giver because true stewardship is about being generous and open-handed rather than being greedy or selfish. When we truly understand that God is our ultimate provider and that everything we have comes directly from Him, it becomes much easier to share with others without expecting anything in return. Giving joyfully and from the heart shows that we trust God completely, and it allows His grace and blessings to flow naturally back into our lives. When we give willingly and happily because we want to follow His will, we prove that we are good stewards who realize we are just passing along the blessings that God originally gave to us. It stops us from being selfish since we know we are giving away what was already His to begin with.

    4. We can trust God more in our financial and life decisions by completely surrendering, giving Him control, and letting Him lead us. This starts by recognizing that He owns everything, which means we should always pray and ask for His guidance to see if our choices please Him before we make any big moves. We can also build our trust by practicing giving first. This helps defeat the fear of running out of money because it reminds us that God is our faithful provider who will take care of our needs, even if we only have a small amount to give. Finally, we can trust Him by letting go of our worries, praying with total faith, and being completely honest in everything we do. When God sees us being faithful with small things, He will trust us with much bigger responsibilities.

    5. According to Romans 14:12, it is very important to be responsible because every single one of us will eventually have to stand before God and give an official account of how we lived our lives and managed His gifts. God does not give us talents, time, or resources just for us to hide them away out of fear or use them only for ourselves. Instead, He expects us to actively use these blessings to help people in need, share His love with the world, and bring ultimate glory and honor to His name. Knowing that we will answer directly to Him serves as a powerful reminder to live with purpose and to use every resource we have been given in a wise, careful, and responsible manner every day.

    FRIDAY 4-5pm
As a student, this lesson about stewardship reminds me that everything I have is not really mine but a gift from God that I should take care of. 1 Corinthians 4:2 teaches that what God wants from me is faithfulness, meaning I should be responsible with my time, talents, money, and even the people around me. I learned from Psalm 24:1 that God owns everything, so I am only a caretaker of what He has given me. This makes me think more deeply about how I use my resources in daily life, especially as a student who is given time, opportunities, and small blessings each day. Instead of wasting them or using them only for myself, I should use them in a way that honors God and helps others. I also understand that being a good steward means being generous and trusting God, just like Philippians 4:19 says that He will provide all my needs. This reflection makes me realize that one day I will give an account to God for how I managed His gifts, so I should be more careful, disciplined, and grateful. Going forward, I want to be a faithful steward by using what I have wisely and always remembering that everything is for God’s glory.
