Unit 3 – Lesson 6: Being a Christian Leader in School
Lesson Objectives:
✔ Understand what it means to be a Christian leader.
✔ Learn the biblical qualities of a godly leader.
✔ Apply leadership skills in school with integrity and faith.
I. Introduction: What is a Christian Leader?
📖 "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant." – Matthew 23:11
🔹 A leader is someone who influences and guides others.
🔹 A Christian leader leads by example, following Jesus’ teachings.
🔹 True leadership is not about power, but about serving others.
💡 Reflection Question:
What makes a good leader? Who are some leaders you admire?
II. Biblical Qualities of a Christian Leader
📖 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way." – Psalm 37:23
✅ 1. A Christian Leader is a Servant
📖 "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." – Matthew 20:28
- Jesus served others rather than seeking power.
- A leader must be humble and willing to help others.
🔹 Application: Help classmates, be kind, and set a good example.
✅ 2. A Christian Leader is Honest and Trustworthy
📖 "Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men." – 2 Corinthians 8:21
- Leaders must be truthful and fair.
- Cheating, lying, or cutting corners destroys trust.
🔹 Application: Be honest in schoolwork and daily interactions.
✅ 3. A Christian Leader is Hardworking
📖 "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings." – Proverbs 22:29
- A true leader works diligently and sets an example.
- Avoid laziness and strive for excellence.
🔹 Application: Be responsible in your studies and extracurricular activities.
✅ 4. A Christian Leader is Courageous
📖 "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee." – Joshua 1:9
- Stand for what is right, even when it is difficult.
- Do not be afraid to share your faith and values.
🔹 Application: Encourage others to do what is right, even if it is unpopular.
✅ 5. A Christian Leader Prays and Seeks God’s Wisdom
📖 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." – James 1:5
- Leaders need God’s guidance to make the right decisions.
- Prayer helps leaders stay strong and wise.
🔹 Application: Start your day with prayer and seek God’s help in challenges.
III. How to Be a Christian Leader in School
📖 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." – 1 Timothy 4:12
💡 Ways to Lead in School:
✔ Be a good role model in words and actions.
✔ Show respect to teachers and classmates.
✔ Take responsibility in group projects and school events.
✔ Encourage others to follow Christian values.
✔ Stand firm in your faith and defend what is right.
