Unit 5 – Lesson 11: Responsibility and Stewardship
Lesson Objectives:
✔ Understand what it means to be responsible and a good steward.
✔ Learn biblical principles on stewardship of time, talents, and resources.
✔ Apply responsibility and stewardship in daily life.
I. Introduction: What is Responsibility and Stewardship?
📖 "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." – 1 Corinthians 4:2
🔹 Responsibility means being accountable for our actions and duties.
🔹 Stewardship means taking care of what God has given us (time, money, talents, and even the environment).
🔹 Everything we have belongs to God, and we are managers, not owners.
💡 Discussion Question: What are some responsibilities you have at home and school?
II. Biblical Examples of Responsibility and Stewardship
✅ 1. The Parable of the Talents
📖 "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things." – Matthew 25:21
- A master gave three servants different talents (money) before going on a journey.
- The first two invested their talents and doubled them, but the third buried his talent out of fear.
- The master rewarded the faithful stewards and punished the unfaithful one.
🔹 Lesson: God expects us to use our talents, abilities, and resources wisely.
✅ 2. Joseph – A Faithful Steward
📖 "And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man." – Genesis 39:2
- Joseph was responsible and trustworthy in Potiphar’s house.
- Even when falsely accused and sent to prison, he remained faithful.
- God promoted him to become the second most powerful man in Egypt!
🔹 Lesson: Being responsible, even in small things, leads to greater blessings.
