Lesson 15

Overcoming Fear with Faith in the Last Days

Scripture:

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."2 Timothy 1:7
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."Psalm 23:4
"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."Psalm 56:3
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."John 14:1

Central Truth:

In the end times, fear will seek to dominate hearts through chaos, persecution, and uncertainty. But the believer walks in faith, trusting God’s promises and resting in His presence.

Lesson Outline:

1. Recognize the Source of Fear

  • Fear is often rooted in uncertainty, lies, and demonic intimidation.

  • Satan uses fear to paralyze believers and hinder their witness.

  • 2 Timothy 1:7 — God’s Spirit produces power, love, and sound judgment, not fear.

2. Remember God’s Presence in Every Season

  • David faced the “valley of the shadow of death” without fear because God was with him.

  • Psalm 23:4 — God’s rod (protection) and staff (guidance) are constant.

3. Replace Fear with Faith through the Word

  • Faith grows by hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17).

  • Declare God’s promises over your life instead of dwelling on fearful reports.

  • Psalm 56:3 — “When I am afraid, I will trust in thee” is a choice of faith.

4. Rest in God’s Unchanging Character

  • Even in a shaking world, God’s throne is secure (Psalm 46:1–3).

  • Jesus assures His disciples: “Let not your heart be troubled” (John 14:1).

Practical Applications:

  1. Pray daily for God’s peace to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:6–7).

  2. Memorize and speak scriptures about God’s protection and provision.

  3. Limit fear-feeding inputs (negative news, fear-based narratives).

  4. Step forward in obedience even when circumstances are uncertain.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What are some end-time events that commonly stir fear in people’s hearts?

  2. How can faith be practically built and sustained in a season of global shaking?

  3. Share a personal testimony of a time God replaced your fear with peace.

Memory Verse:

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."Psalm 56:3
